About Us- 100 Women Who Care

We are 100+ Women Who Care Central York Region! We were founded in September of 2015 by Laurie Brakeboer who was inspired by the concept and impact of 100 like minded women coming together and making a significant donation in such a short period of time! After an information session about how the giving circle would work, a number of women stepped forward to assist in the operations. Thank you to the original organizing committee of Jeanette Butler, Samantha King and Judy Poulin who were dedicated to this group's success! Our giving circle covers Aurora, East Gwillimbury, Newmarket and area. We give to local, not for profit charities that serve our area. Our members are passionate about giving back and they bring forward the nominations for the charities.
One of our first goals was to achieve a $10,000.00 donation
in one meeting!
We were thrilled to have reached that goal in April 2017 with our donation to New Leaf Living and Learning Together.

About Us

We achieved our 2nd goal by reaching over $100,000.00 in donations to our local not for profit charities! We achieved this in July 2018 when we presented $11,050.00 to Marquee Theatrical Productions. The now expanded organizing committee of Anna, Susanne, Jenn, Laurie, Bev, Bonnie, Jeanette, Gabi, Janet, Deanna and Jane all joined in to celebrate!

We were thrilled to reach over $200,000.00 in donations at our 5th Anniversary meeting October 2020. It was a virtual meeting and we were thrilled that so many members stayed with the giving circle and joined our move to virtual due to the pandemic! A wonderful evening spent with friends again!
We are now focused on getting back together face to face and continuing to grow our giving circle and support our communities of Aurora, East Gwillimbury, Newmarket and area.
