At 100 Women Who Care - CYR, we believe that the power of collective giving can create lasting change in our communities. Our five-step process is designed to make it simple for members to get involved and actively participate in our meetings.
Step 1. Join and Commit
Commitment:
Sign a Commitment Form and agree to donate $100 per meeting (4 times per year).
Submit your donation no later than one week after each meeting, either through the designated Canada Helps page or by cheque.
Active Membership:
Attend at least one meeting and make your donation to be considered a member in good standing.
Step 2. Nominate a Charity
Eligibility:
Any member in good standing (after attending one meeting and completing a donation) can nominate a charity.
Nomination Process:
Download the Nomination Form (click on button below)
Collaborate with the charity’s Executive Director to complete the form.
Review charity eligibility and submission guidelines in the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section.
Step 3. Attend Meetings & Vote
Meeting Format:
Meetings run promptly from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. with optional social time beforehand (in person or online).
Charity Presentations:
Two nomination forms are randomly selected a few days prior to each meeting, and members are promptly notified via email.
The nominating members prepare a presentation showcasing their chosen charities, each lasting 5 minutes.
Following the presentations, a 5-minute Q&A session is held for each charity to address member questions and provide additional insights.
Voting and Decisions:
Members vote either online or with paper ballots.
Tie-breaking is handled via additional voting or a draw. In case of persistent ties, members decide to split the donation or proceed with a draw.
Recipient Updates:
At each meeting, the previous recipient charity provides a 5-minute report on how the funds were utilized and a group photo is taken.
Step 4. Charity Consideration
Charities not selected may be resubmitted at future meetings.
Selected charities are ineligible for future nominations, but members may nominate other organizations.
Step 5. Stay Connected
Members are kept informed through:
Emails.
Social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram (@100WomenCYR).
A private Facebook group for members.
